Darren and Kyle Shaffer recognized a missing piece in the community — a meaningful way to come together, give thanks, and raise critical funds for our local first responders. Out of that vision, the Shaffer Family Foundation was born, with the mission to support those who serve and protect us by creating impactful events and streamlining charitable giving.
To help make this vision a reality, the Foundation operates as a component of the Greater Lewes Foundation’s 501(c)(3), allowing all donations to be tax-deductible. The Shaffer Family Foundation is proud to donate 100% of net proceeds to its beneficiaries that are all first responders in the state of Delaware. Only actual event-related expenses are deducted, and no committee members receive compensation or management fees — it’s a true labor of love.
A Dedicatated Committee
At the heart of the Shaffer Family Foundation is a dedicated committee of volunteers who bring vision, passion, and hard work to every event. Our committee is made up of community members, first responder advocates, business leaders, and friends of the cause. Together, they handle everything—from planning and logistics to outreach, fundraising, and execution—with one united goal: supporting Delaware’s first responders.

Meet the Shaffer Family
Proud Delaware residents since 1994 and part of the Lewes community since 2012, the Shaffer family has deep roots in Sussex County. Darren and Kyle Shaffer have been married for 29 years and have been dedicated local business owners since 2002.
Darren is the owner of Coastal Flooring Solutions, LLC, which has proudly served the area for over two decades. Together, they’ve raised two amazing children — Ryan (26) and Amanda (24) — and share their home with their beloved golden doodle, Phoebe, who brings joy to everyone she meets.
